E-Safety for Parents/Guardians
All staff adhere to the Pilgrim School Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy. The relevant E-safety paragraph, 5.2.2 states:
“Staff are aware of and follow the DfE guidance Teaching online safety in school 2019
to ensure our pupils understand how to stay safe and behave online as part of existing curriculum requirements. We also make use of UKCIS Education for a connected world framework
Staff are aware that safeguarding also relates to broader aspects of care and education including Children's health and safety and well-being, including their mental health.”
All Key Stage 3 pupils are taught about internet safety at the beginning of their ICT course.
We also have regular visits from Lincolnshire Police, who deliver a very eye-opening talk on Cyber Crime, online safety briefings from Lincolnshire County Council, and a number of tutor times on online safety and cyberbullying.
There are a number of websites that offer a wealth of useful information, guidance and advice on online safety and what to do if something concerns you. Links to these can be found under the "E-Safety" section on our Links page here.
Below are a few documents that you might find useful to keep yourself, or others, safe online.
If you are concerned about your safety or the safety of anyone online, please do not hesitate to contact any member of staff.
