Music Department
Chelsey
I have loved music for as long as I can remember and knew from a very early age that I wanted to pursue a career in it. So after leaving school, I attended the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester to study Popular Music. From here, I was fortunate enough to enjoy a career as a Session Musician playing drums for TV/Radio and live gigs. I still love going out and playing music but after becoming a Mum, a life on the road wouldn’t work! So I began teaching drums, vocals, piano and bass 1-2-1 at various schools around the county with a gradual progression into teaching class music and performing arts. After teaching in mainstream schools for 10 years, I became increasingly interested in the benefits of music for wellbeing, mental health and music therapy which led me to applying for a job at the Pilgrim School. It’s safe to say, I’ve not looked back. I feel very privileged to be a part of such a wonderful setting and be able to give my experience and love of music to the students
