If someone’s life is at risk, for example they have taken an overdose or seriously injured themselves, or you do not feel you can keep yourself or someone else safe call 999 or go to an A&E department immediately.
If you, or the person you are with, are not in immediate danger but you believe some urgent support is needed, there are services out there to help. Below are some numbers for helplines which may be of use in times of need and some links to websites which may offer you some help and guidance about how to cope.

Family Lives offers a confidential and free helpline service for families in England and Wales (previously known as Parentline). They can be contacted on 0808 800 2222 for emotional support, information, advice and guidance on any aspect of parenting and family life.
