After a couple of local jobs, I joined the Royal Air Force as a Data Analyst before becoming a Voice Communication Systems Analyst. I studied Russia and German to Linguist level and colloquial Serbo-Croat, although without regular use these skills are now very rusty! I also completed my BSc (Open) including Maths, Programming, ICT, English and Geology with the Open University. However, I couldn’t achieve my long-term goal of a career in education within the RAF, so I took voluntary redundancy in 2007.
I completed my teacher training as a Maths specialist at The Priory Academy LSST, before moving to Priory Witham, later becoming Curriculum Leader for Maths. After four years I moved to Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School, with responsibility for KS4 Maths.
I loved working at LCHS but had always wanted to teach in an alternative provision, so when the chance came to work at The Pilgrim School I couldn’t turn it down. As Assistant Head, Head of Maths and Staff Governor we are presented with constant challenges, improvements and evolutions in education, and can see the ever-increasing differences we can make to our students’ lives and futures and those of the people around them.

After completing my degree in Psychology at the University of York I was offered a Teaching Assistant role at The Pilgrim School, although I did not know it at the time this was only the start of my teaching journey, and also my journey as part of The Pilgrim School community. I then went on to qualify as a Teacher in 2020 and I currently teach Maths and Psychology; both of which were subjects I had a love for from an early age.
Teaching at The Pilgrim School is thoroughly rewarding; enabling me to support our pupils to learn, thrive and grow in all aspects of life as well as working with such a supportive team who always have the pupils' interests at heart.
In 2023 I took over the role of SENDCo, and undertake this role alongside my teaching. In this role I support the pupils and their families within our school community to get the right support, at the right place, at the right time.
I look forward to continuing working with the pupils and their families alongside such a wonderful team!

I joined Pilgrim in 2015 and completed my teacher training to become a teacher of Maths.
Currently, I work part-time teaching Maths, Vocational Studies and Health and Social Care. I work across two bases currently - Lincoln and Baumber, teaching KS4 students.

I have been teaching at Pilgrim for over 10 years. I teach Maths and Science at the Amber Hill base two days a week and I teach students in the home on two other days.
It is a real privilege working with our students, seeing their confidence grow and being able to move to their next step.

Hi, I'm Scott and I have worked at the pilgrim School since 2017. I was here previously before my teacher training.
Originally, I was a Learning Mentor but now I am a teacher of Maths and Technology, sometimes even Science! Before teaching I got my degree in Motorsport and Motorcycle Engineering.
I love how, at Pilgrim, everyone can be themselves and are supportive to each other, pupils and staff.
Outside of school I am a competitive Cheerleader. I have been lucky enough to compete at the World Championships and was part of the first adaptive abilities team, a team that contains both disabled and non-disabled athletes. I also sometimes compete in Rubik's cubes competitions with my current best solve being 13.49 seconds 🙂
